Northwest Taekwondo Festival: May 18, 2024 Presented by Taekwondo Way

Taekwondo Way is excited to bring back the annual Northwest Taekwondo Festival. This friendly tournament is designed to build sportsmanship, confidence, and perseverance. Competing is an invaluable way to test your skills and mindset, to cultivate humility and pride in victory, and to learn courage and grace through defeat!

This year’s special events include a Demo Team Competition, Tag-in Team Sparring, the All Around Achievement recognition for those who participate in all three individual events, and special School Awards for the most All-Around Champions. We hope the All-Around will motivate students to develop all areas of their Taekwondo training to become a well rounded Martial Artist knowledgable in the sport, art, and life skills of Taekwondo. Students who win gold in all three events will earn an All-Around Trophy!

Special Events:

• Black Belt Poomsae Championship (All Ages) SOLD OUT

  • Black Belts of all levels and ages are eligible to participate. All participants will perform the Koryo Poomsae at the same time. Attending Masters will walk around and tap out competitors until the Champion is crowned.

• Demo Team (All Ages) OPEN

  • Show us your school’s best performance with a 6 minute demonstration!

• Tag-in Team Sparring (Co-ed, U12, Invitation Only) OPEN

  • Participating schools will put together a team of 5 Black Belt students, ages 12 and under, to compete as a team. Students must come prepared to spar with the best of the best, regardless of size, age, or gender.

Safety Gear: To participate in sparring students are required to wear full safety gear including: hand guards/gloves, foot guards, shin & arm guards, groin guard (males), chest guard, mouth guard, and helmet. Students without full gear will not be allowed to compete. We will have a limited supply to purchase at the tournament.
